Letter from the President,
Continued from Home Page
We are going to attempt to communicate with you monthly regarding Board
Actions, Finances, coming events, speakers, and other issues affecting our
business and industry.
We have already had two rather well attended meetings with speakers who have
received excellent reviews. Other speakers will be on-line for February,
March, April, and May. Our May meeting will host a speaker as well as our
annual meeting with the election of officers for the coming term. If you
have an interest in serving on the Board or wish to assist in any way,
please let us know.
As you may already know, we are calling this year “The Year of the
Practitioner” in recognition of the fact that our meetings and events are
oriented to the credentialed financial service practitioner … the individual
who is on the forefront of working with clients and assisting them with
their financial service and investment advisory needs.
Please feel free to visit our local web site or the
national website at
www.financialpro.org for a wealth of information
in many areas of our respective practices.
Thank you for your interest in the Chapter and I shall be looking forward to
communicating with you next month.
John A. Kiselis,
CLU, ChFC, MBA
President
MEMBERSHIP,
Continued from Home Page
The newly
reorganized and renamed Society of Financial Services Professionals,
and especially our local chapter, is committed to becoming the “edge” in
Education, Ethics, and Relationships for those who toil in the fields of
financial services. The local chapter is making serious overtures to all of
our related professions, planners, accountants, attorneys, trust officers,
and academics in related fields to encourage their membership and
participation in a valuable series of meetings that focus on the three core
principals enumerated above.
If you have
not attended a Chapter event in the past few months, you have been missing
out on a very valuable experience. I invite you to add the Chapter events to
your calendar and make it a point to participate. Further, I would challenge
you to invite others who may not yet have joined our ranks to attend as
well.
You have
heard it before and you will hear it again, but repetition does not diminish
its validity, “There is strength in numbers.” In order to continue the work
that we have begun, we must have more membership. Come to an event. If you
have not done so already, RENEW your membership today. Invite others to join
you and sample the values of membership in our Society. You will be glad
that you did.
